The Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce was founded in May 1938 in San Antonio, Texas. We are committed to being a solution by supporting our local black businesses through identifying capital resources, creating coalitions with other organizations and serving as stakeholders and advocates for our Black business ecosystem. According to a recent study, in San Antonio, Black residents make up 9% of Bexar County’s population and only 2% of businesses. This disparity has led to a revenue and employment imbalance with Black-owned businesses historically earning less and hiring fewer employees. Ensuring Black-owned businesses reach their full potential will benefit the San Antonio economy to the tune of billions of dollars and we at the Alamo City Black Chamber of Commerce are committed to achieving this goal.
