Black American Muslims, Born and Raised (BAMBAR) presents our 2nd Annual DMV Iftar!

Save the date, mark your calendars, and prepare to be part of a welcoming community gathering that celebrates the blessings of Ramadan, while honoring the Black American Muslim experience – community and spiritual growth.

Let's break our fast together, share stories, and create lasting memories during a Ramadan iftar for the whole family! Register now to secure your spot – We can't wait to welcome you!

All members of the community are invited to join us! Registration is required to attend.

  • Enjoy delectable Halal Caribbean and Soul Food dinner and treats.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                    
  • Kids are in for a treat with fun and inclusive activities, from crafts to gym games, provided by Playtime Event Sitters and Muslim Girls Read, Inc.                                                                                                                                         
  • Stand shoulder-to-shoulder with us for prayer, including Taraweeh prayer lead by Johns Hopkins Assistant Chaplain Imam Sajid Settles.                                                                                                                                                               
  • Reflect on the beauty of the Qur'an while listening to recitation from our local youth. Additionally, we are thrilled to feature a reflective poetry performance by renowned artist Khalil Ismail.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                         
  • Explore a special exhibit on Black Amerian Muslim history provided by America's Islamic Heritage Museum and its co-founder and curator, Br. Amir Muhammad.   

**While this event is free of charge, donations are greatly appreciated.**

Note: We are providing ground covers for prayer, but encourage you to BYOP (Bring Your Own Prayer Rug).
