blackbyrd initiative is a whole two- year-old and the time has come for our annual celebration! It is a moment for our tribe to vibe, network and celebrate Black women & femmes for their accomplishments as entrepreneurs, creatives, activists & philanthropists. We are continuing our tradition of honoring a Black woman/femme with our "Fly High" award for her/their significant work as a humanitarian in the Black liberation movement. Our anniversary is one of our signature events that we curate with the intention of attendees experiencing a beautiful and unforgettable moment.

If you've ever been to one of our events, then you KNOW! If this will be your first time partaking in our atmosphere & jubilee, then we welcome you to a premium experience! This year's anniversary celebration is a time for Black women/femmes and supporters to dance, sing throwback R&B and Hip Hop out loud, sip on some cute cocktails (or mocktails) and take in a moment of "Black Girl Joy". It is also an opportunity for you to tap into a network of individuals who share an interest in healing & liberation work. We are so excited to honor another New Orleans trailblazer, Candice "Divine" Henderson,  with our 2023 Fly High Award for her leadership in restoring a historical landmark "Friends of Freedom House". MOOD
This is a celebration and we want our peoples to enjoy themselves! You can come solo or with a whole crew because our space tends to make people feel like they've known each other for quite some time. Feel free to take up space on the dance floor or bounce them shoulders in your chair! We want you to walk away feeling full, seen & inspired.

ATTIRE/COLOR PALETTE
Think "Bad & Bougie", something that is cocktail party/sophisticated happy hour ready. The palette will be "The Color Purple", meaning all shades of purple are welcomed and highly encouraged


FOOD & BEVERAGES
There will be a buffet spread, with vegetarian options, and full cash bar. There are ticket packages available that include 1-2 bottles of Black Girl Magic sparkling wine.

PARKING
There is street parking available near the building.
