Ujima Jam Sessions (www.ourspaceworld.org) are farmer-focused engagements that are virtual or in-person and focused on: sharing information (guest speakers), sharing resources, learning together, and helping each other out on our farms (think all-hands work days, with refreshments and/or on-farm demos from experts).

Launched in 2022 as peer learning circles to better meet the needs of Black and other underserved beginning farmers in Future Harvest's Beginning Farmer Training Program, Ujima Jams are now a farmer-led initiative supported by www.ourspaceworld.org.

Come join us at Ad Astra Farms for a day of learning and communal work! Ad Astra Farms is a peri-urban microfarm in Upper Marlboro, MD whose mission is to support the local food system with sustainably grown produce, home garden consultation and education.

The farm was established in late 2022 and began operations on one-third of an acre in Bel Alton, MD, selling at market and operating a small CSA in early 2023. In late 2023, the farm leased nearly 3 acres in Upper Marlboro, affectionately referred to as "Ad Astra North”. During this jam session we’ll be flipping beds, weeding and planting.
