Summary
Ujima Jam Sessions (www.ourspaceworld.org) are farmer-focused engagements that are virtual or in-person and focused on: sharing information (guest speakers), sharing resources, learning together, and helping each other out on our farms (think all-hands work days, with refreshments and/or on-farm demos from experts).
Launched in 2022 as peer learning circles to better meet the needs of Black and other underserved beginning farmers in Future Harvest's Beginning Farmer Training Program, Ujima Jams are now a farmer-led initiative supported by www.ourspaceworld.org.
Join us at A Heart 4 People Farm for a day of learning and communal work! A Heart 4 People Farm is a 0.5-acre farm in Upper Marlboro, Prince George’s County Maryland that grows produce for seniors and families in need. The farm is an outgrowth of a church garden project at Union United Methodist Church and will engage youth through sensory experiences and beekeeping education. In this jam session we expect to be prepping the children’s herb garden and preparing beds for fall crops.
