Excitement surrounding The Woman King has begun to rise around the nation!

The movie stars the highly acclaimed actress Viola Davis and is centered on the real history of the Agojie tribe, women warriors who defended the West African kingdom of Dahomey from the 1600s until the late 19th century.

In the current political climate in America where women’s basic rights are under siege, now is the time for all women to band together as warriors to fight back for justice. Join us in a theatre full of Black women warriors from the Austin area for an empowering movie experience and the chance to win prize giveaways from local black small businesses at the event!
